We had a wonderful whole-school celebration for World Book Day! The children looked amazing in a fabulous range of creative costumes, representing so many different characters from their favourite books. A huge thank you to all the parents for the hard work and effort put into making and creating the fantastic costumes — they truly helped make the day extra special.
The children enjoyed a fun-filled day taking part in lots of activities related to reading and storytelling. Around the school there were so many exciting things happening, including creating their own characters, illustrating favourite characters and books, scavenger hunts, building book characters using Lego and taking part in quizzes. Many children also brought in their favourite books and enjoyed sharing and talking about them with their classmates.
World Book Day is a very important celebration in school as it encourages children to develop a love of reading. It helps spark imagination, creativity and curiosity, while giving children the opportunity to explore new stories, authors and characters. Days like this remind us just how enjoyable reading can be and help inspire a lifelong love of books.
