Viking ship for St. Patrickโ€™s PS, thanks to the PTFA committee

13th Nov 2020

Exciting news! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

We have today been awarded £9999 from the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, and Department of Communities, for our Viking and Flourish Projects. The funding will be used to have a pirate ship frame and wet pour surface installed in the playground. We have also received funding for Viking shields and longboat kits for the children to design and make the boat more their own! This is part of a wider Viking project, using drama, art and music, to learn about our Viking heritage, that the school is planning to roll out in the coming months with some of the older children.

To help build the children’s resilience at this challenging time, and keep them safe, they will also each get a comfort and safety pack. This is part of a wider project funded by the Public Health Agrncy through Northern Area Community Network.

We are delighted to have this funding secured for our children.

We thank the funders for their generosity and are delighted that the PTFA have been successful in their bid for this funding. We really appreciate all their hard work!

Hopefully when everything is installed in the new year, we can celebrate this project together.

In the meantime please do pass on this great news to the children.
