Traffic Survey in Primary One

11th Apr 2018

Primary One had lots of fun finding out what traffic goes past our school. There was great excitement when a bus drove past but unfortunately we saw no bicycles or lorries. They thought it was too cold for the bicycles and it was also in school time which could help explain it. Two scooters went past us and we decided to count them as bicycles as they will count in our Big Pedal challenge in a couple of weeks. We didn't see any motorbikes either.

Some children made a great attempt at a tally chart and others were very careful to complete their tick chart very accurately.

We had a great discussion in class about other types of vehicles they may see if they carried out a traffic survey at home. Lots of children thought they would see tractors, quads and bicycles. Hopefully we will see some great home traffic surveys over they next few weeks as part of our 'Moving Things' topic.
