Today the Primary One and Two children brought their sunflowers home to take care of. They all had fun planting the sunflower seeds a couple of weeks ago. They watched time lapse videos of real sunflowers growing, looked at a selection of books about sunflowers and discussed the life cycle stages. We also painted sunflowers in the style of Van Gogh’s 'Sunflowers'. They were all so beautiful and unique that every child was proud of their work. Finally we wrote a short piece of Explanation text as a whole class to explain what a sunflower is.
