Successful Half-Term in Primary One and Two
Primary One and Two have had a very busy start to the year and lots of lovely new friendships are developing. They have worked very hard on taking turns, working together to solve problems, listening to others and sharing our resources. Our topic was ‘Our Favourite Things’ and the children particularly enjoyed sharing their favourite toys from home. Beautiful illustrations were created and all the children worked very hard on a follow-up piece of writing describing their toys. We also completed lots of data handling activities and art work about our favourite food. All of our families featured as our favourites and the children enjoyed creating family trees. In P.E. we worked on moving in space and using our bodies to balance in different ways. The children worked particularly hard on stopping and listening in response to different sounds. Repeating patterns was a big focus in maths and the children loved playing number card games in pairs. Digital art produced some amazing work and the children found out how to use new tools to make their art work more effective with the Just2Easy software. This was all topped off with a fantastic performance by all our children in Beauty and the Beast. Congratulations on a great half-term.
