Primary One and Two were delighted to see all their friends again after their Easter Holidays. We started our new topic today “Changing Seasons,” and as it was such a beautiful day, we decided to go for a Spring walk around our school and across the boardwalk to spot signs of Spring. I was so impressed with how quickly they focused in on the task and maintained their amazing concentration and determination to find everything on their list throughout. They really enjoyed looking at the snail Clodagh found and the ant which Jane discovered. We were struggling to name all the flowers we saw but the information board at the end of the boardwalk answered lots of our questions. When we came back to school we had a lovely cupcake treat from Hailey to celebrate her birthday. In the afternoon, the children worked with a partner to create a picture map of our walk. This was a great start to our topic and the children are looking forward to lots more exploring over the next few weeks.
