Safer Internet Day at Our School.

11th Feb 2026

This week all our school took part in various activities to raise awareness of how to stay safe when using the Internet and particularly AI. This was part of the annual Safer Internet Day activities taking place throughout the country. P1 and P2 used the Safer Internet resources to talk about voice assistant. They discussed the difference between voice assisted technology and a real person and sorted statements into two groups. There was lots of discussion around what they used Alexa or Google for. P3 read Chicken Clicking and talked about online dangers. They had to draw and write about one thing chicken should have done to stay safe. P4 and P5 created posters about staying safe online. They completed many tasks on Just2Easy looking into AI, having to decide what things were real and what was AI generated! P6 and P7 explored acceptable behaviours in relation to AI - what things that it is ok to use AI for and what things it is not ok to use AI for. The discussion helped pupils understand how to use new technologies safely, respectfully and responsibly - and how their choices online can impact themselves and others.
