Primary 4 and the EcoSchool Council had a lovely treat this morning when they were invited to attend the launch of Glenariff Beach's Blue Flag.
Donnell O'Loan contacted the school following the mayor's visit to the school to celebrate our Ban the Straws and PlasticSmart campaign and asked if some of the children would like to speak at the event. Charlie and Meadhbh spoke really well on behalf of all the children who took part in the Beach Litter Pick, highlighting how much litter was collected and how the children feel about the effects of this litter on our beautiful beach. The adults were very impressed with how well the children spoke and how well behaved they all were.
After the speeches and photos, Causeway Coast and Glens Council treated the children to an ice-cream to finish a perfect morning!
