Today Primary Three and Four worked very hard to plant seed potatoes in our garden. The children know that traditionally potatoes are planted after St. Patrick’s Day. Then on a recent video Fr White told us the ground should be more than nine degrees. To ensure this the children used a data logger to check the soil temperature before they began, surprisingly the soil temperature was 13.2 degrees. The children dug a trench and were careful to plant the potatoes with their eyes up. They then made there was plenty on compost in the trench and watered the seed potatoes.
