Primary 5 and 6 had a special visit from Mrs Higgins’ brother, Bert Waide, today.He very kindly demonstrated the art of pizza making and of course, we were lucky to taste the cheese and pepperoni pizzas when they came straight out of the oven. One of our pupils has a gluten intolerance so he explained the importance of using different dough and working on another surface when preparing this pizza. As you can imagine, the pupils had lots of questions to ask and stories to share about their own experience with pizza. They particularly enjoyed watching Bert toss the pizza in the air ….cheering him on to make it go even higher. A big thank you to Mrs Higgins for organising the visit and to Bert for giving up his time to cook a delicious break…. a lovely way to end our topic on Italy.
