Primary 6 class travelled with St Ciaran's pupils to Bushvalley Primary in Stranocum. We enjoyed catching up with all the children we met during our shared education visits last year. The main activity of the day focused on creating a school crest which represented all three schools.Time was spent looking at each school crest and identifying special features and colours which could be included in a combined crest. Children worked in groups of three and came up with a new school name and crest. Many features of all the schools were included in the designs - fish, a bridge, an arch, a river, the sea. All the work was displayed in the school hall and the children studied them carefully before voting for their favourite design. Lots of effort was evident in the pupils' work. There was quite a tight competition. The winning group used a triangular shape in their crest and this caught everyone's attention.
