Today, while the P5 children were away on their Shared Education trip, the P4 pupils enjoyed making some delicious Rice Krispie buns.
Before they began, the boys and girls washed their hands and got everything prepared. They carefully broke up the chocolate, melted it, mixed in the Rice Krispies, scooped the mixture into bun cases and added some colourful decorations. Once finished, the buns were chilled in the fridge, ready to be enjoyed before home time.
The baking activity provided the perfect inspiration for their writing lesson. As part of their instructional writing genre, the children wrote detailed instructions explaining how to make their tasty treats. Having completed each step themselves, they were able to create fantastic instructions using clear and accurate language.
The boys and girls thoroughly enjoyed their baking experience and were delighted with both their delicious buns and their excellent writing!
