P4 and P5 had a special time celebrating World Book Day! The children looked fabulous dressed as a wide range of characters from many different books. They performed a wonderful assembly all about World Book Day, highlighting the importance of books, stories and authors, and how we celebrate reading. The children confidently performed their lines and treated us to a brilliant World Book Day song.
Everyone also took part in a fun table quiz with four different rounds, including a picture round. Be sure to check out the winners! All of the teams were very close, showing just how much the children know about books, characters, settings and authors.
The classes joined a BBC Live Lesson online, where they explored how books make them feel and discussed where, when and what they enjoy reading. Throughout the day, the children also illustrated pictures, completed word searches and wrote about the characters they came dressed as.
It was a wonderful celebration of reading and imagination, and a great day was had by all – finishing off with a fantastic hurling session with Dominic!
