Primary One and Two have been enjoying finding out all about their new topic ‘Moving Things.’ We brainstormed all the things we knew already about things that move and talked about some of the important words we will be finding out more about. For example push, pull, direction, speed etc. They thoroughly enjoyed carrying out a traffic survey using a tally chart. There was great excitement when they saw a tractor and an extra section had to be added to their table to accommodate this. There were so many cars many lost count, but we have decided to carry out another survey in the future to sort the cars passing our school. Through their play, they have been investigating how cogs and wheels work, transporting sand with construction vehicles and cranes, building transport jigsaws, moving Earl robots by programming instructions and lots more. They are all very excited to find out more over the next few weeks.
