Introduction to Nursery Rhymes

Over the past couple of weeks, Primary One have been exploring Nursery Rhymes as part of our new topic. We have been hunting for Incy Wincy in our school grounds, creating 3D play dough spiders, dramatising a spider’s adventure in the sand tray and much more. We have also been building walls and creating a movable Humpty Dumpty to place on the walls. Over the next few weeks lots of other Nursery Rhyme favourites will be explored including Twinkle Twinkle and Baa Baa Black Sheep. In Literacy we will be identifying the rhyming words, building sentences and retelling the rhymes in sequence with the support of pictures and a voice recorder storyboard.
