Happy Hedgehog comes to visit

Today the Primary One, Two and Three children got a lovely surprise visitor. Norah and Ernie’s Granda brought a little rescued hedgehog in for them all to see. He explained how he was only allowed to give it water as it is very dehydrated and had found it difficult finding worms because of the dry weather. When it is rehydrated it will be able to take other food. Primary Three were able to say that the hedgehog could eat dog and cat food.  We have been learning all about hedgehogs for Eco Schools. The children were all incredibly gentle stroking its prickles and found it amazing to see one up so close. Thank you for such a great surprise.
