Good Relations in Garvagh Forest School

23rd Jan 2020

On Wednesday, Primary 7 took the bus to Garvagh Forest School, picking up St. Ciaran's PS and Bushvalley PS, our Shared Education Partner Schools, along the way. The children had a great day in the forest, learning to identify native trees, learning about various household products that are made from trees and learning how to look after the trees and the environment. They also enjoyed playing in the forest, toasting marshmallows on an open fire and eating them, they even made Smores to add to the enjoyment! We finished the day with hotdogs and juice before finishing off in a circle of friends and making our way back to the bus.

We had a brilliant day, the weather was fantastic and the children really enjoyed the experience. Many thanks to Causeway Coast and Glens for providing the funding for this day through the Good Relations program and to all those involved in the organisation of the day. Thank you also to Paula for coming along and helping to make the day so successful. Finally a big thank you to our Primary 7 children who were a credit to the school and to themselves. Their behaviour was excellent and so many adults commented on their lovely manners.
