Designing and Problem Solving in P1 and P2
Over the past month the Primary One and Two children have demonstrated a fantastic development in their problem solving and creativity. They have worked individually, in pairs and as part of a group to complete various activities connected to our topics and maths. To complete our Winter topic the children worked with a partner to design, build and test their design of a snow plough. Their focus and determination to design the most effective snow plough was admirable. They measured and cut rushes accurately to create their versions of St Brigid crosses. Lego building skills were further challenged to build realistic penguins, polar bears and their favourite book character. They predicted, estimated and tested their predictions when exploring capacity in the water tray. Congratulations to all our budding little designers and scientists.
