Christmas Prizewinners

19th Dec 2019

Congratulations to all our prizewinners and all those who took part in the various activities we had in December.

Many thanks to the Glenariffe Improvement Group who invited the children to take part in a Christmas Colouring Competition and provided prizes for winners for each year group. The winners from P1-P7 were: Clodagh, Caoimhe, Caitlin, Danaan, Fionnuala, Alexander and Tamara.

There was great excitement during our Advent Charity Raffle Draw. This year our charity was Action Mental Health who had come in to provide workshops as part of our Health and Wellbeing funding secured by the PTFA last year. The total amount raised was just over £330 from our raffle tickets and money collected on the door during the Carol Service. We were delighted with the amount raised and would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your generous support for this very worthy charity.

The winners were P1 Jane Mitchell and Tadhg Marrs, P2 Sophie Black and Eoin McIntyre, P3 Cara Sweeney and Conor Leech, P4 Ava Gettens and Neil Black, P5 Sadhbh Marrs and Ciaran Kerr, P6 Sarah Black and Aodhan Gillan, P7 Ella O’Neill and Dan Black. Many thanks to all the staff for donating the prizes. We hope to invite a representative from the Action Mental Health team to come and receive a cheque during assembly in the new term.

Finally, we had our Journey to Santa competition which encourages the children to travel actively during December. Well done to all those who made such a big effort to walk, cycle or scoot to school, especially during the cold mornings. Congratulations to Erin McNaughton who won the £20 Smyths' voucher. Many thanks to Mr Dinsmore for organising this very popular event.
