Children’s Mental Health Week
This week, our school came together to celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week - a valuable opportunity to highlight the importance of wellbeing, connectedness, and emotional growth in every child.
As a proud Take 5 School, we are committed to helping our pupils develop healthy habits that support their mental and emotional wellbeing. Throughout the week, children took part in a wide range of activities designed to strengthen each of the Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing: Give, Keep Learning, Take Notice, Be Active, and Connect.
Our classrooms and shared spaces were filled with opportunities to flourish, including:
- PE lessons and outdoor activities that encouraged children to Be Active
- Storytelling sessions, helping pupils Connect and Keep Learning in joyful, imaginative ways
- Mindfulness exercises, giving moments to pause, breathe, and Take Notice
- Yoga sessions, helping children develop calmness, focus, and confidence
- And many more wellbeing‑centred experiences woven into the week
Children embraced each activity with enthusiasm, kindness, and curiosity. It was wonderful watching them support one another, celebrate their strengths, and recognise that looking after our mental health is every bit as important as looking after our physical health.
This week reflects our school ethos in action - a welcoming and nurturing community where every child feels a sense of belonging, grows in confidence, and develops a lifelong love of learning.
A heartfelt thank‑you to all staff and pupils for making Children’s Mental Health Week such a meaningful and uplifting celebration.
