As part of our "Sounds and Colours of Africa" topic, we have been listening to lots of fantastic African traditional music on the C2k Audio network. We used percussion instruments to accompany the music in our playtime. As we were having so much fun with this, we decided to make our own instruments using junk modelling. There were some very creative ideas and amazing decorations created. Our classroom was very noisy this afternoon as we tried out our instruments. Some of the children displayed great rhythm and everyone had lots of fun.
