This week we started our new topic “Sounds and Colours of Africa.” We focused our work around the beautiful story of “Handa’s Surprise” by Eileen Browne. The children had fun retelling the story using a wide variety of props and we even had a guest appearance from the giraffe who wanted a chance to tell the story as well! They made fruit salads and fruit skewers and many of them experienced new flavours trying some of the exotic fruits. Some of the children created fantastic pictures to illustrate their favourite parts and the monkeys emerged from a few of them who took to the trees and swing bars. Well done everyone on a great start to our topic.
